Our Approach
Abbott Smith search assignments proceed in several phases;
POSITION ANALYSIS PHASE
Specifications with respect to the various elements of the position are derived from the materials already developed by the client and from information gathered from personal interviews with staff members. The elements requiring definition include:
• Specific content of the job;
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the candidate;
• Nature of the opportunity in terms of both the direct and indirect reward, including the compensation package, professional challenge, and career enhancement;
• General search parameters as to the geographic bounds, industry, specific experience requirements, acceptable employment history profiles, and desired personal profiles.
From the data gathered, the following will be prepared and submitted for approval prior to use as specified:
• A position specification describing the opportunity and the job (for use with potential candidates and referral contacts);
• Screening criteria comprised of those factors which must be present for an initial prospect to proceed to the interview phases;
• Selection criteria made up of those factors against which each of the final candidates submitted will be evaluated.
