DAVID BRINKERHOFF is Managing Partner of Abbott Smith Associates Worldwide, an international executive search firm based in Millbrook, New York. For over thirty-five years he has dealt on a daily basis with all levels of corporate executives. He consults, on a regular basis, with major corporations in determining their needs for executive staffing. Prior to joining ASA, he was with Purdue University, Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was responsible for Continuing Education and Corporate Consulting programs. In this role, he consulted extensively with area industries on their executive development concerns. He designed programs for Navistar, Magnavox, General Electric and others. He has written several articles and book chapters, and speaks frequently to professional groups.
David is active in the American Society for Training and Development, having been a National Board member, a Regional Vice President and President of the New York Metro and Fort Wayne Chapters. He is also active in the Organization Development Network, Human Resources Planning Society, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Academy of Management, and the International Association of Corporate & Professional Recruiters. He is also a member of the Professional Coaches & Mentors Association. He received his B.A. and M.S. degrees from Purdue University, and has completed the coursework towards his Ph.D. in Human Resources Management at Purdue and New York University. He also teaches at the graduate level at the New York Institute of Technology.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, David is active in his community. He is past President of the Millbrook Business Association. He is past President of the Church Alliance Housing Development, Inc. He is also past President of the Millbrook Rotary Club and past President of New Horizons for the Retarded, Inc. In addition, David was appointed by President Regan to serve on the Executive Board of the United States Statue of Liberty Foundation.
