DIVERSITY INITIATIVE
Our program to ensure a diverse slate of candidates is ongoing. We are recognized by our corporate commitment to diversity, as well as for representing only AA/EEO employers, and our contacts include people of many different backgrounds.
Our contacts include organizations dedicated to physically, mentally, or emotionally challenged individuals. We have extensive contacts within female and ethnically-focused organizations; these may be professional, issue-oriented, fraternity/sorority alumni associations, etc., and we continuously expand these contacts. Our recruiters' personal commitments have led them to leadership roles within such groups as the YWCA, AAUW and New Horizons Resources, and to serving as workplace resources for NYS VESID (Vocational and Educational Services for Individual with Disabilities).
Abbott Smith Associates is supported by an informal Diversity Advisors Group. Members of this group include the former EEO/AA officer for a major international corporation, the Dean of a community college serving workforces in both southern Arizona and Mexico, and the Executive Director of an agency which supports independent living for people with disabilities. These Advisors share resources and information with us, make us aware of innovative programs, and otherwise assist us as we seek to identify an ever more diverse group of candidates.
